Developer's Story
"The catechin derivative that is the active ingredient of "CateProtect" was born during a research study abroad in the UK.
At the time, during my research, I was drinking black-tea and green -tea, thinking of new ideas and my Japanese wife and child. One day, I was drying the tea leaves I had drunk by the window to enjoy aroma, but noticed that the black-tea had mold, but the green-tea did not. Therefore, I decided to focus on the antiviral effect of green tea catechins. With many cooperation, we have succeeded in synthesizing a new catechin derivative. The technology that put this technology into practical use is the membrane-affinity EGCG “CateProtect”.
After arriving Osaka University, I set up and engaged in public research projects of NEDO and JST, and confirmed their effects/efficacy, indication range, and mechanism of action. It is a safe and excellent infectious disease control material that can be promoted with confidence.
